English

Introduction and Purpose: social media, particularly Instagram, provides a platform for users to express their opinions and enables companies to communicate directly with users at the right time and with minimal cost. This facilitates a deeper understanding of customers' interests and needs. This applied research aims to analyze Instagram users' sentiments toward sports products using text mining, data mining, and sentiment analysis techniques. The study examines the cases of the "Adidas" and "Majid" brands.
Methodology: The statistical population of the study includes 31,813 posts and 61,489 comments for the Adidas brand and 173 posts and 823 comments for the Majid brand. These data were collected through Instagram's API using Python programming. The selection criterion was the use of hashtags related to these two brands.
Findings: The findings show that brands need well-organized, year-round advertising strategies. Majid's ads follow a fixed pattern and lack diverse hashtags to boost engagement. Sentiment analysis of Adidas-related comments revealed that Iranian users' satisfaction with Adidas products is relatively higher than global levels. Emphasizing user-generated content (comments) effectively enhances brand-audience engagement.
Conclusion: Customer feedback is crucial for increasing sales and satisfaction. Brands must actively monitor and analyze user comments to identify strengths, weaknesses, and emerging trends. By adopting dynamic, data-driven strategies—unlike Majid's fixed pattern—companies can improve audience engagement, build stronger customer relationships, and gain a competitive advantage in the sports product market.
