امروزه فناوری در حال تبدیل شدن به یکی از مهمترین عواملی است که موجب بین‌المللی شدن رقابت در صنعت ورزش های تفریحی شده است. هدف از پژوهش حاضر طراحی مدل توسعه ورزش‌های تفریحی از طریق فناوری‌های نوین در ایران بود. این تحقیق به روش آمیخته انجام شد. در بخش کیفی از طریق روش نمونه‌گیری هدفمند و معیارمحور با 13 شرکت کننده مصاحبه های نیمه ساختاریافته انجام شد. برای تحلیل داده‌ها نیز از روش تحلیل مضمون استفاده شد. در بخش کمی بر اساس مضامین شناسایی شده از بخش کیفی پرسشنامه‌ای تنظیم شد که ابعاد و مؤلفه‌های موجود را دربرمیگرفت. پس از تأیید روایی و پایایی پرسشنامه ها در بین 406 نمونه توزیع شد. برای تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها از آمار توصیفی و تحلیل عاملی تأییدی استفاده شد. یافته‌های این تحقیق نشان داد که مضامین اصلی مدل توسعهی ورزشهای تفریحی از طریق فناوریهای نوین به چهار بخش پیشرانه‌ها و محرک‌ها، چالش‌های بهره‌گیری از فناوری‌های نوین، فرصت‌های بهره‌گیری از فناوری‌های نوین و پیامدهای بهره‌گیری از فناوری‌های نوین در توسعه‌ی ورزش‌های تفریحی تقسیم میشوند. یکی از الزامات این مدل سیستمی عمل کردن و تاکید بر کاربرد فناوریهای نوین در توسعه ورزشهای تفریحی است. در حال حاضر افزایش تعامل انسان‌ها و تجهیزات فناورانه‌ی رایانه‌ای، در حال تسهیل روش‌های جدید استفاده از فناوری در محیط‌های ورزشی می‌باشند و در آینده نیز فناوری تمامی بخش‌های ورزش و بخصوص فعالیت‌های تفریحی را دچار تغییرات ساختاری خواهد کرد.
