هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسی ارتباط میان خوانایی دستخط و سرعت نوشتن با مهارت‌های ادارکی-حرکتی دانش‌آموزان فارسی‌زبان بود. هفتاد دانش‌آموز (26 پسر و 44 دختر، 02/1±21/10 ساله؛ 30 بد خط و 40 خوش‌خط به‌عنوان کنترل) در انجام یک تکلیف کپی کردن ارزیابی شدند. این عده زیرمقیاس کنترل بینایی، سرعت بالاتنه و کار با دست‌ها و هماهنگی بالاتنه از آزمون تبحر حرکتی برونینکس- اُزرتسکی را نیز اجرا کردند. در تکلیف کپی کردن گروه بدخط در سرعت و خوانایی نوشتن در مقایسه با همکلاس‌های کنترل خود نمرات پایین‌تری کسب کردند. ضریب همبستگی بین نمرات مهارت‌های ادارکی-حرکتی با خوانایی و سرعت نوشتن به ترتیب از 11/0- تا 40/0 و 17/0 تا 39/0 متغیر بود. نتایج نشان داد خوانایی و سرعت هر دو می‌توانند تفاوت‌های میان دانش‌آموزانی که به عنوان بد خط و خوش‌خط طبقه‌بندی شده‌اند را پیش‌بینی کند. نتایج همچنین نشان داد در گروه بدخط‌ها، سن، جنسیت، سرعت بالاتنه و کنترل بینایی پیش‌بینی‌کننده‌های خوانایی دستخط است، درحالی‌که جنسیت و سرعت بالاتنه و کار با دست‌ها پیش‌بینی کننده‌‌های سرعت نوشتن بودند. یافته‌ها مؤید این است که در کپی کردن نوشته اجزای ادارکی-حرکتی متمایزی دخیل است و اینکه به نظر می‌رسد کیفیت ضعیف نوشتن دانش‌آموزان با ناکارآمدی و بدکارکردی در برخی از مهارت‌های ادارکی-حرکتی مرتبط است. در تحقیقات بعدی می‌توان مزیت‌های استفاده از برنامه‌های مداخله‌ای شامل تشویق به انجام مهارت‌های ادراکی-حرکتی و نوشتن، به‌منظور ارتقای عملکرد در این دو حیطه را بررسی نمود.
